Lili Reinhart Calls Out Body-Editing Photo Apps for Contributing to "Unrealistic Body Expectations"
When it comes to body positivity, Lili Reinhart is one celebrity name that comes to mind. The 23-year-old Riverdale actress has always spoken out about the importance of self-love and how accepting one's self is far more important than looking a certain way.
Her latest topic of discussion? Photo editing apps, more specifically those that enable users to alter the shape of their bodies in photos.
Lili took to Instagram to shine a light on photo editing app, BodyTune. In a series of Instagram Stories, the actress shares exactly what effect they have on users. Stating: "This is not okay. This is why people develop eating disorders. This is why social media has become hazardous to our health. This is why people have unrealistic expectations of their bodies."
The Hustlers lead ended her message by urging all of her followers not to use said body-editing apps. "We are better than this. Looking 'skinnier' in a photo on Instagram is not worth the detrimental psychological effects that these photoshopping apps have given our generation," Lili explained.
